Group Description: A grassroots association of concerned citizens committed to election justice issues in Ohio: members include people disenfranchised or intimidated in Ohio?s 2004 presidential election, people who continued to experience disenfranchisement or intimidation in Ohio?s 2006 election, and people at high-risk for disenfranchisement and intimidation in the upcoming 2008 presidential election; members also include people in Ohio and around the nation who participated in the 2004 election (and 2006 and 2008 primary) as observers, election protection workers, poll workers, and election investigators as well as organizers and witnesses in Ohio's 2004 presidential vote recount. The OEJC also includes national experts, election integrity activists, and respected journalists.
The OEJC, a non-partisan association, operates under the auspices of the national Election Defense Alliance; it is a member of the national Coalition for Election Integrity and a partner with the Ohio Voter Protection Coalition. The mission of the OEJC is to ?conduct research and public education and other initiatives regarding election justice issues including corporate and political accountability, history, economics, culture, public media, and more. It is assumed that the beginning point in doing research and public education is to invest time and effort toward self-education regarding election justice issues. It is also assumed that the processes of such an organization would be conducted according to the principles of a commons-centered democracy.?
