Yesterday I was driving on a major local highway when I saw a billboard encouraging military members to refuse illegal orders. Sadly I didnt have my phone handy to take a photo, and I am only remembering exactly what it said-- I believe there was also a phrase at the top addressing military folks. Anyway, I took what I remembered and had AI make me an image, which is not the exact sign, but serves well to illustrate the point (at least after I cropped out the car that was going in the wrong direction, LOL!)
This is significant for this area--I live in Hampton Roads, Virginia, which includes Norfolk and Virginia Beach, and is known around the world for its distinguished military presence. With a total of 15 installations, including Naval Station Norfolk, the world's largest naval base, and over 80,000 active-duty military personnel, the region has one of the largest concentrations of armed forces in the United States. Norfolk, VA is also headquarters for the Joint Force Command - Norfolk, a joint operational level command part of the NATO Military Command Structure under Allied Command Operations.
So glad to see this in my area! And I'll try to get my own photo next time!
