I am an Iowan, born and raised. Formerly a Licensed Practical Nurse, with 22 years of long term care and home health experience.Attended Kirkwood Community College and Coe College, both in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Currently I'm a stay at home mom and home schooler for my ten year old son. Two older sons on the autism spectrum have made parenting an extra "learning curve".
In 2010, while recovering from breast cancer,I bought a computer and joined Facebook. I immediately began to chat with people all over the world, but those in the Middle East captivated me more than anyone else.
The Arab Spring, Occupy Wall Street, the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the BDS movement, and Veterans For Peace have all assisted in changing my world view to something better than it ever was.
To all of them, I owe a debt of gratitude.
I have tried out blogging on more than one occasion and site. It has not been something I consistently give my attention to, but rather a hobby on those occasions I care to do it. "From America, With Love" and "Souls and Struggles" on Blogger and "Strange Journey" on WordPress are where I can be found.
I can also be found at my sewing machine, making quilts!
