I am a husband, father, and retail executive. I love to sail (dinghies and keelboats), as well as kayak and canoe. I've become a boat nut in the last 10 years and now spend my free time building wooden kayaks, canoes, and small sailboats. My ever-suffering wife has been gracious and patient with me. She has limited her comments to noting that WE HAVE NO STORAGE ROOM LEFT FOR ANY MORE BOATS! I see that as a problem that I will solve...as soon as I finish the next really cool kayak!
I began my political life as a Randian Libertarian in the 70's, but I have mellowed into a conservative libertarian today. I have spent much of my time since I was a teen in the 70's studying things that most people find boring (poltical philosophy, economics, history, current events). My thoughts do not fit neatly into any particular poltical party or philosophical label. I find myself in agreement with conservatives, libertarians, and progressives. Of course, I believe that I am being the consistent one...doesn't everybody think the same of themselves?
