Trump demands bigger bribe from CBS as network's news staff jumps ship

President Donald Trump is reportedly demanding that Paramount, the parent company of CBS News, pay him even more in ongoing settlement negotiations over a lawsuit that legal experts have labeled frivolous. Paramount is attempting to arrange the payment to Trump while his administration has the power to approve a multibillion-dollar merger between Paramount and Skydance Media, which gives the entire arrangement the appearance of an overt bribe.

7 of Elon Musk's worst co-president moments as he exits White House

Elon Musk's reign of terror in the federal government has officially come to an end, after the malevolent billionaire announced on Wednesday that he has left the White House to return to his floundering business empire. "As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending," Musk wrote in a post on X. "The [Department of Government Efficiency] mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government."

The DOJ is working to suppress your vote""starting in North Carolina

Attorney General Pam Bondi's Department of Justice just filed its first lawsuit under the Help America Vote Act, which was passed in Congress in 2002 to make reforms to the voting process. Given the GOP's enthusiasm for voter suppression, does it even need to be said that there is no way said lawsuit would help anyone vote?  The DOJ's inaugural voting rights lawsuit is against North Carolina, and it makes clear what sorts of things the Voting Rights Section is going to prioritize: increasing voter suppression and indulging Republican conspiracy theories about voting. The lawsuit alleges that North Carolina violated HAVA by having a voter registration form that, while it asked for a driver's license number or the last four digits of a Social Security number, those fields appeared optional, but that information is required by federal law.

Musk's stupid 'five things' emails end at Pentagon with one final ask

Though it seems like a million years ago, one of shadow president Elon Musk's earliest""and stupidest""ideas was making every member of the federal workforce send a weekly email with five things they had accomplished. That requirement is fading away, but while Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is absolving his civilian employees from future five-things emails, they have one last task: helping "improve the Department's efficiency or root out waste."
