Trump's Choice For Surgeon General Has Lapsed Medical License

Can Trump nominate someone actually qualified for their position? Trump dumped his first choice, Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, because she supported vaccines and was hated by psycho Laura Loomer. Now he's nominated 37-year-old Dr. Casey Means, who has been seen on many MAGA programs and is a supporter of RFK Jr and his MAHA agenda, but has no experience running even an ER.

Tim Walz: Trump Stuffs His Wallet While Americans Suffer

Gov. Tim Walz tore apart Donald Trump's arguments for his widespread tariffs on Wednesday as he slammed the president's supporters for proclaiming the U.S. needed a "businessman to run government" like a business. Via HuffPost: "Two things about that are wrong. No, we don't need to run government like a business because we're not in the profit-making, we're in [the business of] improving lives and looking toward the future," he told MSNBC's Jen Psaki.

Pocan Bulldozes Through Bessent's Pathetic Dodge-Fest

During a congressional hearing, Rep. Mark Pocan tried to ask Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent one simple question: Who pays for tariffs? Bessent tried to stonewall Pocan who cut through Bessent's stammering nonsense immediately: POCAN: Who pays tariffs, Mr. Secretary? No, no, no, answer the questions I asked, please. I only have five minutes. Who pays tariffs? Sorry? Well, who pays tariffs, Mr. Secretary? Excuse me. The question is very simply, who pays tariffs, Mr. Chairman? I would like him to answer that question. He wants to answer other questions.

Co-President Loomer Is Very Unhappy With New Pope Leo XIV

We don't know yet how Pope Leo XIV will handle his new position. But one thing we do know is that the first American pope is not a MAGA guy. Slate's Molly Olmstead describes Leo as a moderate with "similar priorities to Pope Francis on the matters of immigrants and the poor" but with "somewhat more traditional attitudes on matters of women and LGBTQ rights" and who is "expected to be more permissive toward the traditionalist faction in the church." She added, "More than anything, this election seems to be one of continuity, rather than a push further left or a swing to the right."

Intel Chief Gabbard Failed Basic Cybersecurity Protocol For Years

Once again, Wired did the digging and got the scoop about the woman who should never have been nominated, much less cofirmed, as the director of national intelligence: WIRED reviewed Gabbard's passwords using databases of material leaked online created by the open-source intelligence firms District 4 Labs and Constella Intelligence. Gabbard served in Congress from 2013 to 2021, during which time she sat on the Armed Services Committee, its Subcommittee on Intelligence and Special Operations, and the Foreign Affairs Committee, giving her access to sensitive information. Material from breaches shows that during a portion of this period, she used the same password across multiple email addresses and online accounts, in contravention of well-established best practices for online security. (There is no indication that she used the password on government accounts.)

Co-President Lara Loomer Claims Another Scalp

It seems that Nesheiwat's pro-vaccine stance for COVID was too much for Loomer to bear, and after several tweets on Sunday, Trump relented and yanked her nomination immediately. They didn't make it public until Wednesday, however, one day before Nesheiwat's Senate confirmation hearing. Trump has since nominated another quack, Dr. Casey Means. She doesn't have a medical license and didn't finish her residency but she's vaccine-hesitant, if not outright hostile. And that suits Loomer just fine.

Pouty Patel Throws Whiny Fit When Busted For FBI Vendetta

During today's Senate Appropriations Committee hearing on the FBI's 2026 budget request, FBI Director Kash Patel pitched a whiny fit when Vice Chair Patty Murray called him out for politicizing the agency against those investigating Trump and the Jan 6 insurrectionists. MURRAY: President Trump has turned the Department of Justice into a tool to go after his perceived enemies, and many of the actions we have now seen at the FBI are alarming. The FBI has reassigned and pushed out career FBI agents for political reasons.

Trump Proclaims 'Victory Day' Holidays Where You Have To Work

During the swearing in ceremony of David Purdue as US Ambassador to China, Trump went on a tangent about creating a new sort of holiday called "Victory Day." He says it's a holiday to honor WWII, but we can't really celebrate it because Americans already have too many holidays off of work. Get it?

Our Favorite Good News Story Of The Day: Do You Have A Flag?

To work around the fuckery of the anti-DEI hysteria, in response to state laws barring the display of any nonofficial flags to be displayed at schools and government buildings, the capitals of Utah and Idaho adopted new official city flags on Tuesday. This is a brilliant response after the Republican Party has been ostracizing groups of Americans. The New York Times reports:

Pretty Sure This Is The Craziest Damn Trump Story Yet

The United States is demanding businesses and government offices in Stockholm, Sweden, comply with the Trump administration's anti-DEI policies, according to Swedish news outlet Dagens Nyheter. Apparently Trump believes he is King Of The World! Via Raw Story: "Stockholm's urban planning office must not work for diversity, equity, and inclusion," according to the outlet's English translation. "The U.S. embassy demands this in a letter with a contract that they expect the city to sign."

Griffin challenged 60,273 legal North Carolina voters""registered voters who showed ID to early vote in the November 2024 election, including military members serving overseas.
