Last Night's Election Results: Texas, N. Carolina, Arkansas

After the Texas GOP pulled every voter suppression trick in the book, James Talerico seems to have won the Democratic Senate primary. "Seems" to be the winner because as of late last night, so much confusion about which votes were counted, it's hard to be accurate. As of this writing, Jasmine Crockett has not conceded. Still, the Associated Press has called it for James Talerico. UPDATE: Crockett just conceded.

Last-minute changes to Election Day voting procedures in two Texas counties yesterday led to hundreds of voters being turned away from polling places JUST AS THEY PLANNED. What made the episode historically important was how bluntly Serling used science fiction to comment on the political climate of the time -- especially the fear, scapegoating, and hysteria of the McCarthy era, when Americans were encouraged to suspect one another of being secret enemies.

Jim Jordan Claims Trump Campaigned On Attacking Iran

Republican Congressman Jim Jordan stretched the norms of reality when he claimed that attacking and then declaring war on Iran was consistent with what Trump told the American people during his 2024 campaign to be president. Does the phrase, "there's a sucker born every minute," hit a nerve?
