7 times Trump's 'border czar' decided he's above the law

When President Donald Trump hired Tom Homan as his "border czar," despite an FBI investigation into very convincing evidence that he took a literal bag of cash as a bribe, there were no misgivings that law and order would prevail. And it was all caught on video.

Here's our winner for biggest Republican loser of 2025

This year was filled with cowardly behavior from GOP lawmakers, who rolled over at every turn to let President Donald Trump neuter them of their power, trample on the Constitution, and destroy the economy and job market with his idiotic tariffs and evil deportation policies. And their subservience to Trump didn't do anything to help their own political fates, as Trump's approval rating sinks to new embarrassing lows that threaten the GOP's congressional majorities heading into the 2026 midterms.

Daily Kos staff writers' favorite stories of 2025

The hell with 2025. Donald Trump came roaring back into office and immediately unleashed the political equivalent of shock and awe""testing institutions, normalizing cruelty, and doing real damage faster than anyone should be comfortable with. These 8 Bad Bunny outfit choices will make conservatives seethe

Earlier this year, conservatives fully lost their sh*t over the news that Bad Bunny was tapped to be the halftime performer for the 2026 Super Bowl, but over time, the incandescent howl of racist rage faded a bit. Not, mind you, because right-wingers got less racist or less angry, but more because they have the attention spans of literal infants and some other shiny object caught their attention.  Why, we haven't heard about the "All-American" alternative halftime show for months. Did talks with Creed break down that quickly? Was Lee Greenwood unavailable? Turning Point USA's landing page for the event remains stubbornly empty, bereft of any mention of performers or where one might watch this spectacular spectacle.

I hope you'll find some familiar tunes and perhaps an introduction to something new. As we say goodbye to 2025 and move into the new year, it's our custom to say goodbye to musicians who joined the ancestors this year. While sadly departed, they have left us with the everlasting gift of their music.
