Brandon Gill of Texas pivoted into a bizarre attack on transgender rights. Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker of Illinois, who was testifying at the time, quickly called Gill out and castigated him for engaging in a political stunt. House Republicans originally said the hearing would be about so-called sanctuary cities and asked Pritzker to testify alongside fellow Democratic Govs. Tim Walz of Minnesota and Kathy Hochul of New York. But then out of nowhere, Gill asked Pritzker, "Do you think that biological men should be able to use women's restrooms?" June 12, 2025 at 5:30 PM EDT President Donald Trump launched into yet another bizarre rant against windmills at the White House on Thursday, beginning with the claim, "The windmills are killing our country, by the way." It only got more bonkers from there. The announcement came in an otherwise incomprehensible Truth Social post, in which Trump couldn't figure out who to blame for how his own immigration policy is harming business. And he didn't say what changes are coming, only that some are. "Why is the national debt so very important that you're trying to kick 16 million people off their health insurance, but increasing the national debt doesn't seem to matter if you're cutting taxes for billionaires and billionaire corporations?" Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts asked Bessent, who dodged the question by trying to parse the number of people losing Medicaid. Alex Padilla was manhandled by what appeared to be a law enforcement officer on Thursday after he attempted to ask Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem a question at a news conference. Video shows two men, one of whom appeared to be wearing a law enforcement badge, forcibly pushing Padilla out of the news conference where Noem was defending President Donald Trump's use of the military to quell protests in Los Angeles against the administration's ruthless deportation campaign.
