Trump reveals creepy connection to Epstein victim

President Donald Trump revealed details of his personal connection to Jeffrey Epstein on Tuesday, reigniting concerns about an ongoing GOP-led cover-up of the sex trafficking case. Speaking to reporters on Air Force Once, Trump said that Epstein "stole" employees who worked at his Mar-a-Lago spa and that the behavior led to a purported rift between them. Trump and Epstein were decades-long friends, and his administration's refusal to release the Epstein files has caused tension among even the most loyal Trump supporters.

Watch Cory Booker's fiery 'wake-up call' for his fellow Democrats

Cory Booker took another stand on the Senate floor""but this time, he called out his fellow Democrats. During a heated exchange on Tuesday, the New Jersey senator clashed with Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota and Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada, arguing that advancing a policing bill without proper scrutiny amounted to complicity in Donald Trump's anti-constitutional agenda.

Homophobic Kentucky clerk continues crusade against same-sex marriage

Kim Davis, the Rowan County, Kentucky clerk who refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples way back in 2015, is continuing to press her case, turning up like a bad penny again and again. This time, it's begging the Supreme Court to hear her cry, oh, and also to entirely overturn Obergefell v. Hodges and get rid of the right to same-sex marriage. In a normal world, this would be absurd. Demanding that the court overturn a precedent that is only ten years old because a random conservative court clerk is sad should be met with a swift refusal to grant certiorari""but we don't have a normal court. We have a court dominated by conservative Christians who love overturning precedents and also love giving conservative Christians power over everyone else when it comes to their dislike of the gays. So, Davis' invitation to the court to overturn Obergefell may, unfortunately, have legs.

You must watch Buttigieg break down Trump's massive Epstein problem

Despite President Donald Trump's delusions about the Epstein scandal, Pete Buttigieg says that his refusal to release the Epstein files poses a political risk greater than that of his Medicaid-slashing "One Big, Beautiful Bill."

President Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein in 1992
"He made this big deal about, 'I'm going to come in, and we're going to release these on Day 1,'" Buttigieg said on "The People's Cabinet" podcast Tuesday. "I think [his supporters] believed him because he said he would. And that whole worldview is based on this idea that there are powerful people who were involved with Jeffrey Epstein, and he was going to fight them. But we all know for a fact that there were powerful people who were involved with Jeffrey Epstein, and he was one of them."

Federal employees can now be harassed about religion by their bosses

When the Office of Personnel Management isn't busy overseeing mass firings, it's busy figuring out ways to force a very narrow, very conservative version of Christianity on those federal employees it hasn't yet sacked. OPM's latest guidance to all agency heads, titled "Protecting Religious Expression in the Workplace," is a permission slip for evangelicals to foist their religious views on everyone else. That's not an exaggeration. The memo explicitly says it: "An employee may engage another in polite discussion of why his faith is correct and why the non-adherent should re-think his religious beliefs. However, if the nonadherent requests such attempts to stop, the employee should honor the request."

Trump boasts about all the wars he's totally ended

President Donald Trump's $10 million taxpayer-funded trip to Scotland has so far included railing against windmills, playing golf, and promoting the grand opening of yet another Trump-owned golf course. Oh, and Trump is also making dubious claims that he's ended tons of global conflicts. "We put out fires all over the world. We did one yesterday, as you know, we stopped a war, but we stopped about five wars," Trump said, while standing on a golf green, Tuesday. "So that's ah, much more important than playing golf. As much as I like it, it's much more important."

GOP senator floats broken plan to buy off Americans mad about tariffs

As Americans prepare to deal with price hikes caused by President Donald Trump's tariff policies, one of his strongest allies in the Senate is proposing legislation that appears to be designed to silence criticism of the administration's unpopular policies""with a financial payoff. Republican Sen. Josh Hawley of Missouri on Monday introduced legislation that would provide a "rebate" check to Americans, taken from the revenue that is being paid for tariffs. Hawley's bill would purportedly provide a check of "at least $600 per adult" and dependent child this year, so $2,400 for a family of four.

Trump administration doing what it can to increase gun violence

Two mass shootings on Monday claimed a total of seven lives, just as it was revealed that the Trump administration has cut millions in funding for groups working to prevent gun violence. Reuters reported on Tuesday that $158 million in grants for community violence intervention programs were cut in April. These grants were previously sent out by the Department of Justice, which is now under the control of Attorney General Pam Bondi.

The cost of medication is about to skyrocket thanks to Trump

President Donald Trump's crap sandwich of a trade "deal" with Europe is about to make the cost of some of the most popular and lifesaving drugs skyrocket""the latest negative consequence of Trump's nonsensical tariff policy. The "deal" Trump announced with Europe on Sunday puts a 15% tariff on pharmaceuticals imported into the United States from the European Union, which Reuters reported could cost pharmaceutical companies as much as $19 billion.
