Atheist Religions Asking whether atheism is a religion ignores more important questions. Atheism is no more a religion than theism. Both are religious opinions on the existence of "God." What makes a theistic or atheistic worldview into a religion is the content that comes with it. On that premise, we might think of the "New Atheists" as religious.
