"All, all except Phineas, constructed at infinite cost to themselves this Maginot Line against this enemy they thought they saw across the frontier, this enemy that never attacked that way--if he ever attacked at all. If indeed he was the enemy."

Book Review: Permanent Record (Young Readers Edition) This is a reprint of my review of Ed Snowden's reissue of his 2019 memoir, Permanent Record. This version was meant for children. It leaves out the adult revelatory bits about totalitarianism in the making. Now that Ed is a citizen of Russia (probably an operation by the CIA), we must think about the fate of future whistleblowers.

Rolling Pearl Harbors: The Reality Creators (2C) Part 2C examines Karl Rove's philosophy: "We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality." Power acts faster than truth can be established, making consequences matter more than justification's accuracy.

Rolling Pearl Harbors: Believing the Unbelievable (2A) This is part two of a several part series about the failings of the mainstreet media and their support for the war-corporate mytholoigization of friendly fascism that gave us Clown Show Trump. The investigative review here looks at Karl "Turd Blossom" Rove and the fake tragic attempt of the Bush administration to pull off another heist of truth with the silly documentary 9/11: Inside Job.

Rolling Pearl Harbors: A Pattern of Crisis and Empire (six part series) I have written a six part, probably prize-worthy, series that looks at the pattern of national security abuses, perhaps inspired by the Reichstag fire of 1933 in Germany, and the implications for American civil liberties as the deep state continues to flick its Bic. No conspiracy theory -- just the facts, ma'am.
