Racial Privilege is Mighty! (5 articles.) (# of views) (Created by Jonathan Ferguson)
This series of reflections discusses the much-maligned notion of 'white privilege.' Is white privilege just a conversation-stopper, or is it a genuinely helpful model for understanding racial inequality and oppression? Is white privilege 'privilege from' or 'privilege to,' and what does that even mean anyway? And does white privilege manifest itself in commonly-expressed visions of history, e.g. the 'man of his time' fallacy?

There is substantial (not conclusive) evidence from genetics, evolutionary biology, and from some unpublicized news storys from last year, all pointing to the possibility that COVID19 arose in a weapons laboratory.
Nuclear Power - Hillary Plans and Bernie Plans (2 articles.) (# of views) (Created by Sheila Parks, Ed.D.)
NYC Climate March, no nuclear, no fossil fuels contingent, September 21, 2014. Jerry Prescott,Greenpeace Lakeland, polar bear. Sheila Parks, On Behalf of Planet Earth, hazmat suit. Both Hillary and Bernie have nuclear power plans that are unacceptable. Their plans are different and each is unacceptable for different reasons. This series is intended to reach both of them, to educate and influence them to change their respective plans now, and is also important for activists and non-activists. The nuclear power crisis is as serious and dangerous as the climate crisis. That most attention by Hillary, Bernie, activists and the general public is given to the climate crisis must be changed now, so that we talk about and act for a nuclear free, carbon free world. If we do not do so, it is over for our planet. The series goes into depth about the nuclear power crisis - citing research, complicity of those in high places to keep nuclear power, lies about nuclear power being clean green renewable, flashpoints of nuclear power plants endangering the whole world now, and experiences of Chernobyl and Fukushima. Nuclear power is a moral, public health and public safety issue. Nuclear waste lasts for millions of years. Do you want it buried in your back and front yards? If not, where? Nuclear power has a huge carbon footprint. Nuclear power plants are cancer factories (Dr. Helen Caldicott) that cause leukemia and other cancers. Is this the legacy you want to leave to your children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and their children - seven generations out and into eternity? Freddie Francis and Sheila Parks. First vigil Japanese Consulate/Boston - standing in solidarity with the Japanese people. On Behalf of Planet Earth

Bernie's Donkeys: Rebranding Democrats as Sanders' Party (3 articles.) (# of views) (Created by Patrick Walker)
In This Changes Everything, Naomi Klein forcefully argues that our nation suffers a cancer of catastrophic bad timing. Namely, when true progressives (climate, peace, civil rights, and economic equality activists) need to be setting policy, our voices are almost totally marginalized in politics and media. By sheer force of obsessing over it, I believe I've found the absolute best solution to this vexing problem: one based on a precise diagnosis and thoroughly rooted in that diagnosis. As my series title indicates, I believe progressives' best path to power lies in rebranding Democrats as Bernie Sanders' party--a rebranding Democrats (for reasons I'll explain) will vigorously resist. So, my comprehensive strategy includes a 'nuclear weapon'--blackmail based on voting Green in general elections--to force Dems, starting with the most progressive, to accept their rebranding as 'Bernie's donkeys.'
Successful Marketing for Political Revolutionaries (2 articles.) (# of views) (Created by Patrick Walker)
It's delightful that a resistance movement of principled progressives has formed under Trump. But will that resistance be doomed its ignorance of--or downright hostility to--political marketing?
ISRAEL - transformation of the regime (3 articles.) (# of views) (Created by Joseph Zernik)
Various processes have been documented in recent years, which have led a series of prominent public figures in Israel, including President Rivlin to issue warnings regarding the changing nature of the Israeli regime.Such changes are related to right-wing and religious extremists, to general corruption, and to growing influence by 'tycoons', etc
Constitutional Originalism (4 articles.) (# of views) (Created by Larry Butler)
What were the Framers thinking? What were their limitations? What would they think if they could see how the founding documents have been captured and distorted by powerful interests?
A Journey onto Unfamiliar Ground (3 articles.) (# of views) (Created by Meredith Ramsay)
This series is inspired by my need to find meaning in the multiple catastrophes that confront us and for which I have felt unprepared. While all of these crises--global warming, economic recession, racism, for example--have been gathering force for a long time, it was always possible to put them out of mind, telling myself that I'm powerless to do anything, but 'they'll find a solution.' 'They' meaning 'the authorities,' the people we've elected to take care of economic and social problems for us. But they blew it, and they blew it badly. Two recent events have brutally ripped the scales from our eyes, and the terrifying precariousness of all life has now been exposed. The first event was the sudden appearance of the mysterious coronavirus now sweeping the world; and next was the cold blooded murder of an unarmed black man by a white policeman in broad daylight. The whole world watched as the agonizing atrocity unfolded, thanks to a graphic video widely circulating on social media. The depth of America's racism was finally exposed in all its depravity, and the world reacted with revulsion. Masses of people have taken to the streets in protest, and nobody knows how it will all end. I needed to find a way to understand why all of this was suddenly coming to a head, and I needed to find meaning in it, so that I could stop being frozen in place and move forward with purpose. In this series I will share the journey I've taken in my search for meaning, and to share what I have found. I hope that my readers will find something of meaning for them too.
The Scandalous "Teachable Ethics Scandal" Retraction (3 articles.) (# of views) (Created by Ian Hansen)
These are various articles related to the article by Mitchell Handelsman, 'A Teachable Ethics Scandal', which was published in June in Teaching of Psychology, but has since been targeted for retraction--a matter still under review by SAGE publishers at the time of writing. The retraction appears to have been urged by former APA President Gerald Koocher who has co-authored academic work and otherwise coordinated on ethics matters with Stephen Behnke (pictured above). Behnke is the psychologist who was ousted from the American Psychological Association in the wake of the psychologists-in-torture scandal. Behnke and four others named in the report of the APA's internal investigation of its collusion (called the Hoffman Report) have since filed a legal complaint against the APA, against Hoffman's law firm, and against fifty other unnamed 'John or Jane Does.'
One Quarter of a Million Preventable Water Main Breaks Kill Us and Will Cost $1 Trillion in the Next 25 Years (3 articles.) (# of views) (Created by Robert A. Leishear, PhD, PE, ASME Fellow)
Figure 1: E. coli infections kill 73,000 people in the US every year. 'Water Main Breaks Can Be Stopped - Period! Every American city suffers from preventable water main breaks. Every year, 250,000 US water main breaks cost taxpayers $60 billion. To this day, water main breaks are responsible for E. coli and Listeria infections along with copper and lead contaminations. We are misinformed that water main breaks are caused by cold weather, road traffic, or oldness. Southern cities claim that cold weather breaks their pipes, where pipes are buried feet underground, and frost lines are only a few inches deep. Forces from road traffic are woefully inadequate to break pipes. Oldness does not break anything - otherwise - New York skyscrapers would collapse. We have been provided such nonsensical causes for water main breaks for a century. The time has come to apply science rather than fiction to stop our water main breaks. To this end, I proved and published that a phenomenon called water hammer breaks water mains. When valves, fire hydrants, and water pumps are operated, repeated high pressure water hammers crack water mains. Geysers then rip upwards through our roadways, or leaks scour out dirt under roads to cause road collapses. Simplified recommendations are available. See 'Water-Main Breaks in Mississippi and Across [the] U.S. Can Be Stopped' (https://www.mississippifreepress.org/30418/water-main-breaks-in-mississippi-and-across-u-s-can-be-stopped).'
