The truth about Testing: inventing failure so as to "fix" what wash never broken. (50 articles.) (# of views) (Created by Susan Lee Schwartz)
Testing and evaluation IS NOT about standards... it is about profits. Congress enshrined the NCLB act which is the crux of the tragedy and allowed the testing company Pearson to rake in a fortune while kids lost everything we once took for granted Its goal is to ensure that schools fail, so they can be rated as failing! Then they can be'FIXED' by the CC! . Read how testing replaced learning as the objective: ' The Death and Life of the Great American School System: How Testing and Choice Are Undermining Education' by Diane Ravitch; The road to opportunity ended. The Bush policy and the Duncan rant became the national mandate, and the professional at the bottom , lost the right to plan lessons that enable kids to learn. They evaluated the teachers our of their jobs, their civil-rights and that is What VAM means. The tests were not reform. They were a 'magic elixir, no evidence required, and now that the evidence is in, as this series reveals, the charlatans who run the country, the media and now the schools want to continue the ruinous policy that dumbs down a nation to the point where propaganda wins, the people are so Bamboozled that they will elect liars.
The Unraveling American Orthodoxy (1 articles.) (# of views) (Created by Michael Bazemore Jr.)
This series attempts to examine the forces behind recent attempts to roll back advances in civil liberties for women and for minority groups. It argues that an American orthodoxy emerged in the Civil War period. Forged in crisis, the American orthodoxy held that the promises of the founding documents were not the domain of white men only. Over the following century, though unevenly at times, this orthodoxy held. In the 1970s, with the alliance of evangelical Christians and the Republican party, a steady resistance was mounted, which is seeing success in statehouses across the nation.
The West Is Manufacturing Fifth Wave of Terrorism (0 articles.) (# of views) (Created by Hassan Horri)
In honor to the victims of the terror, that originated at the offices of Charlie Hebdo and wrecked with 17 dead, Paris hosted the biggest rally in French history, led by dozens of world leaders walking arm-in-arm. On Sunday, January 11, about 3.7 million people took to the streets nationwide, alongside the representatives of around 50 countries. In fact the WEST responded with revulsion to the lethal assault on the satirical journal. So did any levelheaded human beings. The new 'freedom of expression,' with a leading storyline from the horrific massacre at the magazine offices is translated as an attack at the very foundation of freedom. The West seeing their own values personified in the 'free speech' endorsed the culture of Charlie Hebdo's disrespect, sadist and spoof to fight Islamic radicalism. In all the official statements made in Paris, Washington, London, Rome, Melbourne, Brussels and Bonn the attack on the Charlie Hebdo is subjugated as a challenge to the 'freedom of the press' and the unalienable right of media in a civilized society. It looks that the new tendency, (chants, hypocrisy, free speech, anti Islam and double standard policies) of the West paves the way for the manufacturing of the fifth wave of terrorism which is born, grown and educated in the western homes. According to Professor David Rapoport there are four known waves in the modern history of terrorism, namely, the anarchists (1880s), anti-colonials (1920s), the left (red) wave (1960s) and finally, the religious wave of late (1970s).
Therapeutic Justice (8 articles.) (# of views) (Created by Eric Z Lucas)
What is Therapeutic Justice? It is the realization that each and every citizen has the right to be healed. What does healing mean? It means that each and every citizen has the right to be put in touch with that healing inner light. This contact with the inner light is the 'therapy' in Therapeutic Courts. It is the liberation behind the abolition of slavery. It is the recognition behind the woman's suffrage movement. It is the inspiration behind the Civil Rights and the Restorative Justice movements. It is the simple intuitive recognition that a healing justice 'should focus on repairing harm' and that 'the responsibility of the government is to maintain order and of the community to build peace.'

Tracts for Our Times (9 articles.) (# of views) (Created by Patrick Walker)
Originally penned to discuss the deeply vexing question of how progressives can leverage against Joe Biden after voting for him--Trump MUST be stopped--this series has richly fertilized my political thinking and simply exploded its initial frame. So I thought I'd reach back in history for a series title suggesting both its timeliness and grandiose scope. Just as the famed 19th century 'Tracts for the Times' were the religious credo of the Oxford Movement, these ambitious secular tracts hope to become the political credo of a history-making 'Justified Outrage' movement.
Traitor to My Race: The Abolition of White Privilege (0 articles.) (# of views) (Created by Jack Carney)
This series is comprised of three articles which trace the origins of white supremacy and white privilege, their evolution since the American Revolution, and the lifelong personal transformation of the author into an opponent of white supremacy and privilege and an advocate for their abolition. The latter is advanced throughout the series as a fraught proposition since abolition involves the disavowal by white Americans of a belief in white supremacy key to their self-identity. Rejection of white supremacy and privilege and acceptance of the harm they've done to white as well as black Americans will entail a requisite commitment by white Americans to engage in a course of self-education similar to that outlined by the author. Only then might white Americans recognize that abolition, however costly, will be equally beneficial to both. The series concludes with exhortations by Martin Luther King and Joe Hill to adherents of abolition to take action and organize. References pertinent to all three articles are to be found appended to the last.
